The Human Resources Section of the Ministry of Education is responsible for processing human resource matters for staff of the following:
Additionally, the Human Resources Section has responsibility for the submission of the following matters to the Department of Public Service on behalf of the Department of Archives, the Department of Education and The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI):
- Accelerated Increments 7 (b)
- Appointments
- Car Loans
- Casual Mileage i.e. 100 miles per month
- Disciplinary Action to be processed by the Department of Public Service
- In-Service Awards
Interdiction and Suspension in accordance with General Order 1125 and Public Service Commission Regulation 37(1)
Medical Loans

Overtime in excess of 35 hours per/month or extended periods of overtime for Special Projects

Retirement of staff over sixty five years old, retirement on medical grounds or in the public interest

Special Leave in excess of two (2) days under General Orders 1624, 1625, 1626
Terminations
Unpaid Leave, including Unpaid Study Leave
All other matters for the attention of the Department of Public Service with the exception of Reassessment, Efficiency Bars, Confirmation, Reclassification and award of Increments in accordance with Section 7a of the Public Service Act.
